Literacy Games: Lemons for Literacy Success!

by Erika

On Saturday we hosted an event for to raise money for a new literacy center opening in Orem, Utah.  The Superhero Training Center is a non-profit organization committed to helping people who struggle with reading.  In order to help them get started we made them one of our featured sites on Lemons for Literacy.    Lemons for literacy, is a fun, interactive vocabulary building game.  For every correct answer a virtual hand "squeezes" lemonade into a glass.  For every squeeze Reading Horizons is donating 5 cents to the Superhero Training Center.  We had a kick off this Saturday with free lemonade and donuts.  It was a lot of fun!  I would like to thank all of those who participated in "squeezing lemons".  From now until September 30 the Superhero Training Center will be one of the featured sites on Lemons for Literacy.  Take a moment and see how many vocabulary words you can get correct.  Not only will you improve your own knowledge but you will be helping improve the lives of those who struggle with reading.
