Reading Horizons Reading Program Works in Unique Settings

by Mauro

I wanted to let you know of some of our unique students and customers we have using the Reading Horizons reading program. In Alberta, the Horizons School Division has implemented Reading Horizons in the Colony Schools.  Colony Schools serve the Hutterite communities that dot the countryside in areas of this province. The Hutterites are a unique group in that they have maintained their social structure for over four centruries, somewhat similar to the Amish in the US. Colonies in Horizons School Division each have their own school. These tend to be small, one or two room schools, and direct instruction rather than software or other types of technological instruction is used. Another unique setting that I thought was interesting to share was Virtual Schools. Virtual schools are available for students to have an online public school education experience. At the Ohio Virtual Academy this is just what the K-12 students in the state are getting, an online public school education experience. Working mostly one-on-one with teachers the students are able to get individualized instruction that suits their individual needs and Reading Horizons is proud to be a part of it.

These are just some unique places and settings in which Reading Horizons can be used.
