Established: the public school system is hurting. So, I was not impressed with the band-aid-direction that President Obama applied to education in his State of the Union address. Once Again Established: we don’t need another multi-billion dollar, government-strings-attached-and-I'll-give-you-money approach to education.
- We do need to pay the best teachers in the country what they are worth.
- We do need to get back to the basics like teaching reading.
- We do need to cut back on top-heavy administration.
- We do need the right technology in the classroom.
- We do need to enlist and army of retired people to volunteer in the classroom – these are the ‘nation builders.’
More or less - what do you think we need to do to fix education?
