Tyson J. Smith, president of Reading Horizons, has guided the North Salt Lake based company into becoming a national and international education publishing enterprise. Since its inception over 25 years ago Reading Horizons has had a firm focus on its goal to publish and market industry leading education products, specifically the Discover Intensive Phonics for Yourself reading system. This software and direct instruction oriented, explicit, systematic phonics program, has been designed to assist children, teenagers, and adults who need to acquire solid literacy skills. Tyson, a graduate of the University of Utah, has presented at dozens of education and technology conventions throughout North America over the past 10 years. He assumed the role as President of Reading Horizons in October 2001.
